Norberto Bravo was born and raised in Tucson, Arizona. Also known as “El Gallito” (“The Fighting Rooster”), Bravo describes himself in the ring as unrelenting and willing to fight until death if necessary. Norberto started boxing at eight years old. Boxing is away of life him.
As an amateur, Bravo competed in 130 fights and boasted an impressive 120 wins – He made his debut as a professional at the age of 20.
In the Contender Season II premiere, Norberto “El Gallito” Bravo proved to still have a lot of stamina when he the youngest fighter of the competition, Rudy Cisneros. Rudy’s skill and youth did not match Bravo’s strength. This bout was filled with five rounds of action resulting in a close victory for the older, more experienced fighter.
In addition to his victory in the ring, Norberto was also voted by his fellow contenders and Sugar Ray Leonard as the gutsiest fighter of the first round of fighting. For this, he received a brand new Toyota Tundra and proved himself worthy of respect from the other fighters.
On episode 10, Norberto “El Gallito” Bravo faced off against a power puncher in Gary Balletto. The veteran fighter knew that he had to out box the younger yet powerful opponent. El Gallito managed just that when he defeated Gary in five rounds of action packed boxing.
Bravo faced off with Cornelius “K-9” Bundrage for the bronze-medal in the Contender Season 2 Finale. Although Bravo stepped into the ring with raw determination, "K9" established himself too powerful for Norberto Bravo, scoring a seventh-round stoppage.
Outside the ring, Bravo works in construction and devotes himself to his fiancé and four children, Norberto, Jr., Jose, Mya and Roman. Norberto believes he doesn’t have anything to prove to anyone but himself. He fights for his family in order to give them nothing but the best.
