The Bridgeport Connecticut native hails from a long line of professional fighters, so it’s no surprise that Jaidon Codrington has been interested in boxing since a young age and started boxing competitively at 14.

Former national Golden Gloves Champion, Codrington possess the perfect mix of speed, power and flash that has captivated audiences since his 2004 professional debut.  With Sugar Ray Leonard as one of his idols, Codrington feels very fortunate to be a part of the Contender.

Codrington is very close to his brothers and sisters and has started a record label, Masiv, with his brothers. On an occasional weekend you can find Codrington in clubs working and having fun as the appropriately named DJ Knockout.

In one of the greatest fight’s in Contender history and possibly one of the best fights of 2007, featured Jaidon Codrington against Sakio “The Scorpion” Bika on The Contender 3 Finale main event. The winner would receive $750,000.00.   Round one showed Bika dropping Codrington however, Codrington came back and dropped Bika later in the same round.  The rounds leading to round eight, showed both fighters exchanging power shots and vicious jabs.  The conclusion came when Sakio forced Codrington against the ropes and was able to land many direct shots making Codrington reel. Finally, the referee called the fight at the 2:18 mark. Though losing the fight, Codrington showed the world he could contend and in the process won the hearts of many fans.
