Hernandez, a native of Puerto Rico is a popular fighter that only started boxing 5 years ago at Age 27. In the short time he has been boxing; he has built a reputation as a straight forward boxer that puts on a great show.
During “The Contender” series, Hernandez faced the rugged Wayne Johnsen. After fighting for the five round event, Hernandez was defeated by unanimous decision. At “The Contender” Finale in November 2007, Hernandez was pared against Aslanbek Kodzoev (Paul Smith was originally slated to fight but had to withdraw due to an injured hand). Fighting with purpose and resolve for the full six rounds, Hernandez unfortunately lost via unanimous decision.
Since appearing on “The Contender”, Hernandez faced off against Derrick Findley. Through eight tough fought rounds, Findley was awarded the win by unanimous decision.
Hernandez prides himself on being a good father, a good husband and dedicated to training to be the boxer he can be.
